Downfall Zeus: A DemiGod Roleplay
As we read and write, we gain experience. We gain knowledge. We gain ideas. Everything we create was inspired by something. Wether it be a single word, phrase, or picture. Wether it be an entire novel or concept. Or even if it is a whole melting pot of mixed sources and sparks of creativity that have been fused together to create one fabulous idea.
That is how GODS came to be.
It combines inspiration and ideas from Greek Mythology, Anime (Future Diary, Fate Zero, and Baccano), Books (Hunger Games, Scorpion Shards), and other things in between.
Downfall Zeus is not an ordinary roleplay. The purpose is not to discover a characters powers, delve into a past, find love, or just hang around. And despite the war, it is not merely about fighting.
It is about a battle. A constant, intense struggle of ideologies. Everyone is risking their lives for a common goal. Morals will be breached. The limits will be tested. Characters will have to adapt and change with the surroundings. Everything they believe in will be put to doubt. How far will they go to become a god?
That is the true goal of the roleplay. This is character development and a passionate clash of what one thinks is right. It is a struggle to answer the question of what it means to be worthy.
Do you dare to partake in this? This is not for the faint of heart.

Setting the Stage
Year 2013 AD
Location: Whiteheights
Time: 21:00
All across the city of Witeheights, the living sleep in silence. The downtown continues to battle the darkness with lit up skyscrapers, neon signs, and the wail of sirens. The living struggle to sleep in the chaos that is Whiteheights. For some it remains elusive, but many succumb to its enrapturing embrace in the end.
Somewhere in a cramped apartment room, a living sleeps. His chest rises and falls with his soft breathing. His eyes are shut. His form relaxed. He sleeps and does not wake at the wail of sirens and the bark of dogs. He sleeps on into the night, oblivious to the world.
A shrill ring pierces the air and he bolts upright, startled. He glances left and right for the source of the sound, till his eyes fall upon the cellphone on his nightstand. He reaches for it clumsily, still lost somewhere between slumber and wakefullness. He flips it open.
The screen reads in bold blue font: 1 Text Message.
He hits enter. The text message fills the screen and he reads the words carefully.
"Zeus is dying. The world threatens to fall. Any who seek to replace him must prove themselves worthy."
He blinks and rubs his eyes, not believing what he sees. He is about to read it again when the cellphone lets out another wail. Not a text message; a phone call. He answers.
His friend's voice shouts through the earpiece: "I got this insane text, man. Gods, I think it's finally happening!"
He looks at his lap, as if the phone is resting there and not pressed to his ear. The words glare at him in his mind.
"It must be. No one would ever joke about something like that."
His friend replies: "But what's up with the 'worthiness'? Are they actually replacing Zeus?"
"Like I said, they wouldn't joke."
"They're going to have some meeting I'll bet. We're gonna have to go. Everyone will want to know more about this. What do you think is going to happen?"
"Chaos. Death. The end of the world."
"Right, end of the world. I'll see you later, man."
He closed his phone with a click, staring off into the darkness of his room.
Chaos. Death. End of the world.
Call him negative, but he just had a feeling he was right.
A really strong feeling.
And he was seldom ever wrong.

DOWNFALL ZEUS: The Name of the Game Is War
The gods are finally dying. After reigning in heaven, hell, and earth for thousands of years, their time has come to fade away.
But if they do so, the world will fall out of balance. No one and nothing will be in control. The earth will destroy itself.
So naturally, since the gods cannot be saved, the gods must be replaced.
Whenever a god is about to die, both human and demigod, so long as they know of the gods' true existence, shall be notified of the god's passing.
Those who wish to become the god shall speak their intentions before a council.
They will then be allowed to create an army of no more than four people.
The competitors and their armies will fight each other to the death.
The last competitor standing is the winner.
Each soldier of the army of the winning competitor will be granted one wish by a god or goddess depending on the wish.
The winner will become the new god.
The winner will approach the falling god and show them their worth.
The god will bestow upon them all their power and knowledge.
The winner will take on their rightful name and place.
When a new god begins to fade, the war shall begin again.
Only the worthy may become a god.
DOWNFALL ZEUS
Zeus: the god of the sky and wielder of thunderbolts. His time has come. As one, he united the gods in the ultimate decision to begin this war between mortal and immortal, so that his reign might be secured.
Who among all is worthy to become Zeus?
After Downfall Zeus and the new Zeus has been declared, all members will vote on a new god (major or minor) to fight over next, and the new war will begin. See the EVENTS page.

Segregations
Gods and Goddesses
As the name implies, they are the all powerful deities strictly from Greek mythology. Mostly cruel and ambitious, it is wise not to trust them. The gods and goddesses each rule over a sphere of influence (ie: Poseidon is god of the water and earthquakes).
Demigods
One parent was human and one was mortal. They think of themselves as better than mortals and look down on humans. They have powers relative to their god parent.
Warlords
The competitors. A Warlord may be a demigod or a human. Each one is motivated by their own ideologies and reasons. They must be smart, strong, and ready to give up anything and everything to be worthy of becoming the god.
Toa
Those who make up the warlords' armies. Each army has up to four Toa maximum. At the end of the war, the Toa of the winning warlord will be granted one wish, anything their heart desires.
Innocents
Humans who don't know about the gods, demigods, the war, etc.
Alerts
Humans who know of the existence of the gods, demigods, monsters, etc. They may help or hinder in the war, and some may even become Warlords or Toa.
Beastiary
From chimeras to the hydra. Any monster from Greek Mythology belongs in this category. Also, dryads, naiads, satyrs, etc. also belong in this category.
Companions
An animal or beast who is a pet of a human, demigod, or god.
